It would appear to be that Scott Fraser came in first for the men's second team to hand ove to Dan Halliday. This team appears to have finished 6th. Graham Gristwood was involved in a sprint finish for the gold medal, taking first place by just a few seconds.
With Mhairi ill, Liz stuck in traffic and not able to make it and Lizzie "not running anyway", the first women's team, consisting of Suzy, Ruth and Cerys put in a very credible performance to finish 10th.
GBR finished 4th overall in the competition.
As GG put it: "There was a bit of a cockup in the transport department, meaning liz got left behind. Mhairi woke up feeling dreadful and didnt run.
Scotia came in first for the 2nd team on 1st leg, with about 15 teams within a minute (including schnitz and marky saunders).
Nixon then ran fastest second leg to bring GB 1 into a good posn (within sight of leaders from the start) and I then had a good run and sprinted past two russians on the run in. Swiss guy blew quite a big lead (15-20 secs at least) on the last few controls to finish 4th. Everybody else did really well, and the guys 2nd team with Dan and Duncan finished 7th i think.
Not sure about the girls...."
Jess added:"the 1st team was Suzy, Ruth and Cerys (in that order) following mhairi being ill. 2nd team ended up being Lucy, Helen, Jess (after Liz had got stuck in traffic-team was decided as the 1st leg runners were running, so Rose didn't realise she was a 1person team until she finished). Suzy came back quite high up although a few mins down on the leading pack, then Rose and then Lucy.
Suzy handed over to Ruth who was gaining up til the spectator control but lost a bit of time afterwards to get over taken by Helen who had taken over from Lucy. Jess went out a couple of mins before cerys, but didn't manage to keep ahead and cerys overtook a swiss team-finishing in 10th with the 2nd girls team in 12th!"
