race :: british schools champs
Yesterday saw over 800 runners, some seasoned competitors but a lot of unfamiliar names of new school orienteers, descend upon Hawkbatch Woods in Worcestershire for the British Schools Championships.
Burford School dominated the primary team class with three of the first four teams, while Barnardiston Hall Prep School edged out the Louth brothers King's College school in the Mid-Prep class. The small secondary class was only contested by three teams, but Clayesmore were the worthy winners. King Henry VIII school had more class winners than Ulverston Victoria in the large secondary competition, but the Lake District school's strength in depth gave them the title: scoring just 34 points from 9 runners!
