Force Ten (Phoenix) Long O
The entry deadline for the Force Ten (Phoenix) Long O, taking place on the 16th & 17th of August, is fast approaching.
The event is a 2 day 'long orienteering' event which takes place in the Cheviots, the range of hills straddling the border between Scotland and England, and is run by Newcastle and Tyneside Orienteers (NATO). Unlike its Mountain Marathon cousins the event returns to base after the first day so you need only carry essentials for the day in the hills.
With a range of course distances to choose from, and the opportunity to run solo or in a pair, the event offers a great introduction to mountain marathon type events without the need to carry all that kit! Or it can just be a great couple of days out in the hills.
Either way, entries close August 2nd, so head over to the Phoenix website and find out more information.
