Orientator - Guildford
For those looking for a great introduction to orienteering, the Orientator race could be your first stop.
The Orientator comes to Guildford town centre next Saturday, offering up a 10km off road running series where you choose the route.
These races are specifically designed for those runners out there that are looking for something different, but enjoy a healthy 10k run. Explore Guildford's town centre and surrounding country by racing to all the checkpoints to complete the first race.
You can either enter one, two or the whole series of three races, either race with a friend or go solo.
If you're looking for a series of running events with a difference, then look no further. There are three races on three different dates and at three different venues which will test your all-round athletic skills.
The three different races will take you across the city, undulating heathland and scenic woodland, each with the same challenge; choose your own route, take short cuts and visit all the checkpoints.
The object of this race is not only to test your map reading skills but instead to shake up the field by offering a choice of any number of different routes.
For more information about these, visit the Orientator website.
Also coming up is the Loseley 10k and 4k, offering a great scenic 10k or 4k around the private Estate of Loseley House. All proceeds go towards raising money for Chase Children's Hospice.
