After a three year break, the Peter Palmer Junior Team Relay is returning to it's spiritual home - Sutton Park in Birmingham.

Hosted yet again by the City of Birmingham Orienteering Club, (COBOC) with help from other WMOA clubs, it promises to be a weekend to remember for teams from across the country.

Accommodation is as usual at the Wyndley Leisure Centre, with the Event Centre at the Clifton Road base of the Birmingham Outdoor Education Centre. As usual the event kicks of - literally- with the traditional five a side football competition on Saturday night, always a popular and exciting opener.

The "Peter Palmer" was the brainchild of Glynn Roberts of COBOC, and was first put on in 1993.  Since then it has toured the country, being hosted by clubs in East Anglia, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire to name but a few. Each giving their own individual touch to a special event.

Entries are still open with a provisional closing date of 1st September. Clubs which have  entered in previous years have been notified by email and so far 21 teams have registered their intention to run.

Any other clubs considering entry are invited to contact the organiser  (email;  gerry227@hotmail.com) by way of their Club Captain or Chair, for an entry form.

Planners for this year are Iain Embrey (OD) and Adam Bushnell (WRE) with Barry Elkington (OD) as Controller.

Organiser Gerry Morrison, (COBOC) says that if past years are anything to go by this will be a memorable weekend for all the juniors who make the trip to Birmingham. "COBOC is a very small club and relies on the help  of the other WMOA clubs who have always been very generous in their support".
