Karolina A Höaard has made it through to the final ten sports people in the nominations for Sweden’s Jerringpris (similar to the BCC Sports Personality Award).
Höaard won 2 golds at this years world championships, held in Sweden, 1 in the long distance and 1 in the relay, where she caught Heli Jukkola of Finland and took victory on the final sprint. She also took silver medal in the sprint race.
Amongst other nominees are Stefan Holm, Christian Olsson and Karolina Klül with Olympic Gold, Jonas Jacobsson with 4 Paralympic Golds, Anja Päon with several World Cup Golds in Alpine Skiing inn 2004, and Henrik Larsson, just because.
In Recent years Simone Luder won the similar Swiss award after taking all 4 golds at WOC 2003, held in Switzerland. Yvette Baker has also been a guest on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards. All this top publicity is great for our sport.
