38 degrees

A petition is underway in a bid to stop the Government selling off areas of Britain's nationally owned forest, including Forestry Commission areas, to private owners who will then be able to develope it on a commercial basis.

Many people are worried that Britain's wildlife will suffer as a result while many orienteers also believe that this could make woodland less accessible and have a detrimental effect on their sport.

Over 10,000 people signed the "38 degrees" petition within 24 hours of its being set up on the internet.
