wcup :: Long Results
The world cup final continued today with the Long Final. Simone Niggli Luder continued her dominance with another victory today completing the 10.3km course over 4mins quicker than anyone else in a time of 65.18mins. Norways Anne Margrethe Hausken was the closest challenger to Simone with Vroni Koenig-Salmi just behind the norweigen in 3rd. Drama in the British camp as they were celebrating Heather Munros superb 6th position, they found out that she had been disqualified! The team have submitted a protest but they are still waiting to here the outcome of it.
The mens race was taken by Denmarks Chris Terklson as he continues to prove that he is back to his best since recovering from severe over-training. A frenchman takes 2nd, not 'Terro' but teammate Francois Gonon, who was only 17secs down on Terklson. Switzerlands Marc Lauenstein completed the top 3. It was tight at the top as the top 7 were seperated by just 2mins!
Jon Duncan was the top placed british male in 22nd place with Nick Barrable returning to the team with good form finishing in 31st place. Ewan McCarthy continues to cement his place in the senior team with another solid run finishing in 36th place.
