wcup :: Relay results
The World Cup concluded today with the Relays. It is to be the last time for GB's Heather Monro so women in particular were looking to do extra well. The whole team put in solid displays to allow Heather to bring the womens team back in 7th place & 5th 1st team home. The win was taken pradictably by Switzerland with Norway & finland 2nd & 3rd respectively.
In the mens race it was Switzerland who were the victors again but it was the 2nd team who took 1st place. The 1st team took 3rd place with France completing the podium in 2nd. Great Britain finished 10th and 13th with all members having very comparable solid runs. Jon Duncan had the stand out run of the men running 3mins quicker than the other Brits despite running on his own.
This weeks racing brings the curtain down on heathers illustrious international career which has seen her become one of thee most successful british orienteers. All that is left is the Banquet which is to be Heather Monro's last and i'm sure She'll enjoy it!
