woc :: long final
Jani Lakanen and Simone Niggli are the new World Champions in the King Distance - the long race.
For Simone it was her 11th world title and 3rd title in the long distance, while Jani described it as "the best day of my life, in sport". Jani is the first Finn to win the classic distance since 1985.
The big British hope for the day, Jamie Stevenson, started well but mistakes made him slow down and he finished in 14th place, while Jon Duncan was just behind him in 17th.
For the girls it was a tough day, with Jenny the quickest Brit in over 93 minutes and 26th place, with Rachael (28th) and Alison (30th) just behind her.
