The World Cup Finals continued today after the interruption of the storms. The Long final was held today in some very unique volcanic terrain. No surprises for guessing who reigned supreme in the mens class - Frances' very own Theirry Gueorgiou was the clear winner, just under 4mins ahead of Russia Valentin Novikov. Theirry, out to bounce back from a disapointing WOC, made home advantage and top preperation tell. WOC classic gold medallist, Jani Lakanen, took 3rd spot.
Jon Duncan led the way for GBR finishing in 17th place. Graham Gristwood was next in 31st place, closely followed by David Brickhill-Jones with Scott Fraser just 4 places back, showing clear strength with in the GB team.
In the womans race the dominant force of Simone Niggli-Luder prevailed again winning by a similar margin to 'Tero' overe Finland's Minna Kauppi. The two were over 3 minutes clear of the chasing pack which were being led by Sweden's Emma Engstrand.
Helen Bridle continued her good form producing the top GBR womens result of day coming in in 20th place. Mhairi MacKenzie put in another good performance on her return to senior duty finishing just behind Helen in 23rd place. Another grouping of brits in the 30's occurred again re-enforcing GBR's strength.
