wc :: middle final
Thierry Gueorgiou made it a clean sweep of wins in the individual races this week by taking the Middle distance title today. Yet another technical area managed to trip up some of the stars on show but Thierry showed his superiority again. It was Valentin Novikov who pushed him again today but had to settle for 2nd race in a row with Switzerland's Daniel Hubmann in 3rd.
Two quality run's from GBR's Jon Duncan and Graham Gristwood earned them 12th and 15th place respectively, very impressive yet again.
However the result of the day from the british camp came in the womens race as Edinburgh based Mhairi MacKenzie had a superb run finishing in 7th place just missing out on a podium. In doing so Mhairi beat many big names and WOC medalists including Karolina A-Hojsgaard and Simone Niggli-Luder and caps a great come-back from a series of injuries which plagued her during the end of last year.
The next four GBR women where within 10 places of each other being led by Sarah Rollins in 23rd. The womens race was won by WOC long silver medallist, Marianne Anderson, who just pipped Minna Kauppi by 6secs. Heli Jukkola was in 3rd only 17secs down on her compatriot.
