Nordic Champs
At a meeting of the Nordic federations in Helsinki the Nordic Open Championships were allocated to Denmark for 2007 and Finland in 2009. They have already been allocated to Telemark in Norway next year, after the original hosts Denmark pulled out, citing organising the European Champs this year and World Champs in 2006 as too much work.
Great Britain has had medal glory at the last two Nordic Meetings, with Jamie taking silver in the sprint in Sweden last year, and the team of Jamie, Steve Palmer and Stan Hale taking relay Gold in Finland in 2001.
With the restrictions on entries to World Champs imposed from last year the Nordic Champs are now seen as some of the most competitive races in the world, since each Nordic country can enter 10 runners in each race, and all other coutries may enter 6.
