Sheffield Spring Cup Series
You know spring has well and truly arrived when the Sheffield Spring Cup Series arrives. Organised by SYO, this series of 5 weekly events truly finds out who the kings and queens of Sheffield orienteering are. This year the 5 events are all fully electronic and are being held on some of the best terrain Sheffield has to offer: the first 2 events are being held on Blackamoor and Rivelin. Last year saw Oli Johnson and Matt Crane tie in the Men's class, whilst Jenny Whitehead was victorious in the women's. Scores are from your best 3 of the 5 events, but with some of the "big guns" missing the first race due to World Cups, the competition is wide open.
There'll be 3 courses at each event, A 7-8km, B 4-5km and C 3km. Starts are from 6pm, with courses closing at 7.30pm. Entry fee is £2.
Event 1: Wednesday 27th April - Blackamoor
Event 2: Thursday 5th May - Rivelin
Event 3: Wednesday 11th May - Burbage East
Event 4: Tuesday 17th May - Wharncliffe
Event 5: Tuesday 24th May - Burbage West
