Free tickets for new AR Series
2005 has seen the introduction of the Open5 Series and Open24 Adventure Races in the North of England by Open Adventure. The Open5 series being 5hr score events and the Open24 a non-stop 24hr event at the end of July.
The Open5 Series of four events for solos and pairs will use the score orienteering format of visiting as many points as possible in the 5hrs by mountain bike and foot. The series will use areas new to adventure races such as the north Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales, with all locations selected primarily for their ability to offer superb mountain biking and running with challenging navigation. The style of the events will be slightly different to many races with controls ready marked on maps.
In the midst of summer Open Adventure are running a 24hr continuous event (no support crew required) in the North West on the last weekend of July (only open to pairs). The Open24 will not only use MTB and trekking, but rope sections, Canoeing and a few challenges to make the most seasoned racer smile.
As a special offer Open Adventure is offering two free tickets to the Open5 series of events (usually 15 per person) - these are available to orienteering, running and mountain bike clubs in the north of england.
