mtbo :: Wharncliffe
The New Compass Point MTBO Series starts on 11th February at
Wharncliffe, near Sheffield, with the first event planned and organised
by World Champs rider Killian Lomas.
This is the first of the 9 race series that is planned to increase the
development and raise the profile of MTBO in the UK, after the success
of the GB team in 2005 in Slovakia.
Wharncliffe is a great area with wide forest tracks, steep technical
downhills, tricky single track and potential for great route choice.
The map is a specially produced MTBO map by Peel Land Surveys.
Courses are cross-country (point to point) and NOT score events. Winning
times for this event are planned at 70 mins for each course.
There will be 3 courses provided on the day.
Course A - Mens Open, Men's Vets (40+)
Course B - Womens Open, Womens Vets, Mens S-Vets (50+)
Course C - Womens S-Vets, Mens 60+, Womens 60+, Mens & Womens Juniors
The closing date for entries of 6/2/2006 is fast approaching, so if you
want to come out and try something new or support the development of
MTBO, then get your entries in the post today.
