JBOC 2005

One of the decisions made at Council on Saturday 8th May was that the British Junior Championships should be held with the British Championships at Penhale and not with the World Cup on the early May Bank Holiday.
The decision was made much easier by SWOA announcing that, in principle, Penhale would be available either on 15/16 April or 22/23 April as well the currently selected date of 13/14 May. By bringing the whole of the British Championships forward to one of the April dates, we overcome the major problem of holding the premier junior competition during exam times. SWOA are liaising with Fixtures Group to select the best date in April.

The other issue was that BJOC formed an integral part of the Development Plan for the World Cup and the Sports Councils grants had been allocated on this assumption. It is now proposed to include the Future Champions Cup Final with the World Cup over the early May Bank Holiday weekend. This will be a sufficiently high profile event to satisfy our obligations to the Sports Councils under the World Cup Development Plan. Again this is subject to confirmation, this time by Junior Competitions Steering Group and Fixtures.

We will let you know as soon as we get a firm date in April and confirmation of the Future Champions Cup Final.
