Tinto Twin
The annual night and day extravaganza that is the Tinto Twin was held in Newcastleton Forest last weekend, a fine bit of borders plantation marking the events return to its taditional home in the South of Scotland, after last years soiree up to Inshriach.
The night event incorporated the Scottish Night Championships. Anne Straube (EUOC) was uncontested on W21, but in M21 it was Steve Nicholson (FVO) who took the title. Top juniors were Kirsten Strain and Andrew Brunton (both EUOC) while in the most competitive class, M35, Bo Hallberg (Falkopings AIK, SWE) won.
Onto the day event where total time from night and day decided who is Tinto Twin champion. Ther was no award in W21, but Steve Nicholson held in in M21. The course winner however, was former JWOC-champion Jan Troeng, on tour with his club OK Linne (SWE).
