The JOK chasing sprint headed north this year, the venue - Touch Estate, Stirling. An ideal area for this event with its varying terrain and intricate sections.

The morning kicked off with prologue, 3.9km for the mens open and 2.9km for the women. The mens results had a very young look to it with Scott Fraser taking it from Mark Nixon in joint 2nd along with old boy Jonathan Musgrave. 4th was M18 Duncan Coombs while Graham Gristwood completed the top 5. The top 7 were seperated by less than a minute setting it up for an exciting chase.

Scott took a 7 second lead into the chase but the top 7 were all together by the 4th control. And the fight for victory was taken all the way to the line with a sprint finish between Fraser and Graham Gristwood. Scott emerged the victor. Stephan Anderson finished in 3rd from 7th in the prologue. When questioned the swede said 'i just focused on my own race as i knew i was running fast enough and knew i could catch up places'.

It was slightly more clear cut with Claire Ward winning the prologue by over 2.5 mins from young Rosie Hodkinson with Sarah Dunn in 3rd. Claire's lead was too much for anybody to make up and she cruised to victory. Rosie failed to match her impressive prologue run allowing Sarah to take 2nd overall and Alison O'Neill took 3rd posting the fasted time on the chase course.

In the other race classes Michael Billinghurst took the mens 40+ while Marsela McLeod took the corresponding womens race. It took a sprint finish for Adam Bushall to take the victory in the mens 16- and Erin Malley won the womens 16-.

If this all was not enough it was also the 1st FCC race of the season. Scott Fraser won it in the mens class with Duncan Coombs taking 2nd and Oleg Cheplin was 3rd.

The womens race was won by 3rd placed Alison O'Neil. Rosie Hodkinson took 2nd spot and Helen Gardner completed the top 3.
