BOF Level 3 Orienteering Coach Training Course

Course Content
The course will follow the BOF approved syllabus and is appropriate training for those interested in coaching up to and including Step System Level 5.
In particular the following will be covered:
• Instruction systems and methods
• Principles of exercise
• Injury prevention
• Orienteering maps
• Land use
• Safety procedures
• Equipment
• BOF structure
• Resources
• SportsCoach UK Code of Ethics
Assessment will be required after the course to become a BOF approved Level 3 (Club) Coach.
Course Tutor
The course tutor is Blair Young (Tinto). Blair is a very experienced Level 4 coach and has taken a number of courses for the National Centre as well as coaching at many different levels.
Accommodation and Meals
The accommodation for Saturday night will be in one of the chalets at Glenmore Lodge and the accommodation cost includes all meals for the weekend – lunch and tea on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. (Spaces in the chalet are very limited so if the course is well subscribed there may be a requirement to stay somewhere other than Glenmore Lodge for some course participants. This will be arranged if necessary.)

Final details will be sent out to confirm start times, what to bring and all other information.
