ar :: rat race on tv
Tomorrow morning sees the first in a 3 part series covering the 2005 Rat Race Series. Those early risers amongst you should check out Channel 4 at 7:30am for a half hour long programme by Dream Team Television.
This week sees the Bristol Rat Race where orienteer's aplenty feature with Bruce Duncan's Team Saab Salomon holding off Andy Simpson's Team Macpac Smartwool over the 80km course planned by Pete James. Interesting antics included abseiling from buildings and cranes, as well as cave orienteering - a section that Andy Simpson will probably wish to forget!
Revenge however came in Edinburgh where Macpac Smartwool were victors ahead of Team Compasspoint (Andy "I can't swim, climb, abseil, kayak or even cycle" Middleditch, Neil Northrop & Toni O'Donovan) ending Saab Salomon's unbeaten run in the UK. In Edinburgh there was plenty of micro-o action on Arthur's Seat along with abseiling from the roof of Murrayfield and kayaking under the Forth Bridges. None of which Middleditch was able to do obviously.
Manchester saw Saab Salomon back on top after a prologue victory for Andy Middleditch & Phil Winskill's Team Ole Gunner who ended up finishing in 3rd behind Team Sleepmonsters.
