Crazy Race
Yesterday saw one of the more interesting races in Sweden, the Crazy Race, a tough cross-country race littered with obstacles. With 5 laps, each of less than 4km but containing as many as 40 obstacles. These range from climbing walls and crawling nets to mud pits - the race truely does live up to its name!
Some top orienteers were taking part with Jorgen Olsson taking the win from David Brickhill-Jones after racing together for the first 3 laps before the Swede got a lead taking some of the obstacles cleaner "without punters in the way". Duncan Archer claimed 4th place ahead of Ewan McCarthy in 5th. Ewan said of the race "Good fun. Class race, banter all the way, including DJ decks in the forest, guys dressed as devils lighting fires beside the course, and lots of mud and water jumps!".
