jhi :: england hold off scots
England were triumphant in this weekends Junior Home Internationals after Saturday's individual gave them a lead that proved insurmountable in Sunday's relays.
However they didn't have it all their own way in the relays, which took place in conditions which could charitably be described as damp, over tricky courses which caught a lot of runners out. With two teams to count England took mawimum points in the mens class with the winning team consisting of Peter Hodkinson, Jonathan Crickmore and Hector Haines. However a Scottish clean sweep of the girls podium, backed up by a Welsh team in fourth gave the Scots the relay trophy, while the English were overall champions by 12 points. The Welsh took the Judith Wingham trophy, which they contest with the Irish.
The next Home Internationals are the Veteran's edition, which take place in Wales in November.
