JWOC : : Classic Bronze!
Alison O'Neil has won Britains first JWOC medal for 15 years, a bronze in todays classic.
After losing out on a medal by 12 seconds yesterday the NOC and EUOC runner took the bronze medal today, behind Silja Tarvonen of Finland and Veline Staldler of Switzerland. Tarvonen, who anchored Finland 2 to Gold last year now has her first individual medal.
The last GBR medalist at JWOC was none other that Yvette Baker-Hague, although back then the competition was in its infancy.
Congratulations from everyone in nopesport!
Cerys Manning finished in 20th, a great result for a W18, while Mhairi around 1 minute behind her took 21st place. Liz and Lizzie took 89th and 90th spots respectively while Helen narrowly missed the top 100.
More relay speculation from TNS: we think Cerys on first leg, Mhairi on second and Alison on third, although it could be a tactical move to put Mhairi on last, since she probably feels she still has something to prove, and after some very strong anchor performances under her belt already this year (BUSA, BOC, SOC) she will be confortable with whatever they decide.
