Murray Strain - Easy like Sunday Mornings
The Nopesport Urban League kicked off in style in the pleasureable surrounding of Scotland's Captial city, Edinburgh.
Edinburgh University hosted the event and it was fitting that one of its finest old boys, Mr Murray Strain, should take the honours. Murray (24) took just over 36 minutes for the course, beating former World Orienteering Championships Sprint Discipline participant Nick Barrable. The Young Team was represented by Hector Haines in fourth place, just behind Edinburgh Southern's Ray Ward.
In the women's event Claire Ward was triumphant with a time of 45:20, with Sarah Dunn in second place 3 minutes down. Alice Leake took third place.
On the short course, it was a Forth Valley triumvirate at the top, with Jamie Stevenson winning by 4 minutes ahead of Julian Hall and Craig Thompson, with Rebecca Roberts of South Ribble taking fourth place.
Respect is due to Edinburgh University Orienteering Club for producing an awesome event and a cracking weekend.
