csc :: scottish round
ESOC today hosted the Scottish CompassSport Cup qualifier in the Pentlands, safe in the knowledge that they would qualify - they were the only large club to enter! There was however a great deal of competition for places in the Trophy, with holders Forth Valley looking to ensure their place in the final in order to defend their title.
As it was, FVO won through comfortably with 1274 points thanks to good strength across the board and wins on four of the courses. Behind them things were closer, with Clyde leading the way on 1170 points from Tay on 1154, with Roxburgh Reivers and Solway edged out on 1147 and 1125 respectively. Interlopers, despite taking top two places on the brown and a number of other high finishes, were left ruing their lack of vets as they finished in 6th place.
So Forth Valley, Clyde and Tay all qualify for the Trophy, with Edinburgh Southern taking the spot in the Cup. For those wondering who qualified before them, read this. The final will take place on Sunday 19th October 2008 at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield.
