Junior Forum Update
You may have recently noticed some changes to the junior section of the nopesport forum. In recent weeks, access has been restricted to only allow approved junior members to post in this section. The section is, however, still open for anyone to read. This measure is part of our ongoing commitment to child safety on the web. In the coming weeks we will also be banning posting capabilities for Weapons of Mass Destruction, Osama Bin Laden, ETA and Saddam. George W. Bush, however, will be given full control of the forum, and we are still considering Colonel Gaddafi as a valued member. We will also be using whatever the government’s latest witch hunt is to make your browsing experience as inconvenient and unfullfilling as possible
You may also have noticed that there are some new names gracing the moderators section, with fancy new graphics and titles to boot. We bring you a short profile on our new Junior Moderators.
Drew (aka Drewberry)
Despite running M18, Drew is actually only 13. He has recently moved to Edinburgh to attend Edinburgh University, doing maths or some dull subject like that. He is from Glasgow/The Highlands and enjoys buckfast, girls and ornithology. He runs for Clyde as well as EUOC, and is currently doing well in the FCC series, with a place in the final looking like a forgone conclusion. His big brother is code monkey extraordinaire, Pyrat.
Helen
Helen runs W16 for SARUM, although she lives in gloucestershire. She is still 14 and is in year 9 at school. She went to Lagganlia last year and orienteers basically every weekend. She loves any sport in general, and also plays tennis and does athletics pretty seriously. Helen loves orienteering as she thinks it is a great place to meet boys.
*Carol*
Carol is from great old Birmingham, and runs W18 (but is still 17). She runs for the mighty HOC, and has been orienteering for 3 years (quite new in a way!). She loves multi-days, and did the French 5-day last year and swears everyone should go at some point! She is doing Geog/Maths/F.Maths/Physics and Gen. Studies at A level, and spends time out and about on the town. She has a GSOH and would like to meet similar. “No idea what you want to know, so i'm gonna rabbit on about anything I can think of! Have a sis (Liz W16), like cats, music, good nights out.. hmm.. I'm stuck now! She likes orienteering because its better than Birmingham and longs to meet Mike Skinner.
So kids, be nice to them, or else. Because they know where you live. And things can get ugly if you upset them. We are grooming them to take over the empire one day. Its a young person’s game and we can’t go on for ever. One day, all of this will be yours. The new Junior Moderators will be around for any help needed, to keep an eye on the conversations, spark new debates, etc etc etc.
