The British Schools Championships was held last weekend by MDOC/DEE in the North West.
On Saturday 15th there was the World Schools selection race for 14s + 16s. Wins came from Chris Smithard M14, Joseph Taunton M16, Emily Benham W14 and Jessica Halliday W16. Click here.
On Sunday the 16th saw one of the biggest junior races of the year, the British Schools Championships. This is a very special event as its main focus is on involvement of juniors, rather that top competition. As a result the courses may seem technically easy for the top juniors, however hundreds of beginners from all over the country get to compete on a course they can all enjoy.
In the schools class wins came from Burford in the primary school category (their second team would have been 2nd!), St Andres School Pangbourne in Middle Preparatory, The Mount School in Small Secondary, Ulverston Victoria High School (again) in Large Secondary, and York College in Tertiary. For full individual and team results see the website.
